My primary hope for Yellow Diamond:

She is an inflexible old lady of volatile temper who misses the good old days of faxes (magic) and carbon paper (manufactured using the bodies of dead gems). She refuses to learn how to work her electronic devices, and is given to attributing her difficulty with them to personal malice on the part of tech support, viz, Peridot.

Peridot fears her, and dreads receiving support calls from her. Once she broke another Peridot in half for telling her to "just please stop downloading things."

They have no deeper relationship and are not going to make out, at all.
