When they realize they don't have the motor skills to beat a video game, do other people go on YouTube and watch videos of people playing it?

This is process is from whence comes most of my knowledge of Cave Story and Twilight Princess. Also Final Fantasy IV, though I assume that I technically could have beaten that if it hadn't ticked me off.

That is what Let's Play are for. My sister does this a lot for horror games, where it's too scary to play by herself.

I don't like the ones where people talk over them, though! It's hard to find the kinds without commentary, and most of them are speed runs that skip important plot stuff.

Hell, it's not even motor skills, it's patience at this point. "Oh, geez, only another 500 hours to go to beat this game. You know what? I have a life to live." etc.

I figure if I end up with stupid time and money given to me just for existing, then I can finish my stack of PS2 games, never mind the 360 games :P

True. I am not going to play another 7000-hour Final Fantasy game just to find out that the guy is a clone which is an ancient evil's soul or else its hat, which has amnesia, or something. I only need a basic outline here.

I deal with this mostly by not playing twitch games. RPGs I can usually manage, even when they decide to go all FPS-ey I'm looking at you Mass Effect.

I have done a vaguely related thing once or twice, which is when I decided I lacked the patience to slog through e.g. the Wheel of Time books but was still kinda sorta interested in finding out what happened, which is that I just looked up plot summaries online.
