I spent the day alternately playing the latest Dwarf Fortress update and Katawa Shoujo.
One of my dwarves immediately took a dive off a waterfall while trying to fish, so I abandoned and tried again nearby. The next embark had no iron ore, so I abandoned again. The third one was fine, and then my guys from the first two started immigrating over. Do they want revenge?
I am not sure how I feel about Katawa Shoujo. It's sort of a dating sim where all the girls have disabilities, and it's... surprisingly thoughtful most of the time? Yet it clearly exists at least in part as sort of a fetish object.
I've somehow ended up on the track for the excitable runner girl with prosthetic legs, which is the one I'd least wanted to be on; she looks about twelve, and one of the early images of her made me want to do physical violence to the artist. The way she's being drawn now that her plotline's actually started up is fine so far, but I may see if it's possible to skip the presumably-inevitable sex scene.
I do not entirely trust this game not to be a creep, basically.
