Adventures in the Library of Congress.
Apr. 29th, 2010 11:09 pmToday I went up to the copyright office of the LoC with somebody who works there. (I had no copyright-related reasons for this - she was just stopping in to say hi to people, and I was with her.) Someone had posted on their cubicle a sign which precisely mimicked the typeface on the LoC nameplates, saying "L. Ron Hubbard Staging Area."
I asked her what that meant - apparently they get a huge volume of requests of some kind regarding L. Ron Hubbard's work, but she wasn't sure exactly what they were. Do you need to request some kind of document to file a DMCA takedown?
(Yes, I could look this up, but I am actually already in bed, and should be putting the computer down now.)
