*I am staring at the open sock-and-underwear drawer, and have been for upwards of thirty seconds*

"The pads are in the bathroom, and I need to walk over there if I'm going to get one"

*Maybe... There are pads... In the drawer*

"There aren't"

*I put a sock in my underwear as if it was a pad*

"God, fine"

I don't know if it's better or worse that you're not alone in having done this sort of bad decision.

I can recommend stitching an old washcloth inside an old but structurally sound underpant. They are the best for when the task of finding a pad is too much, or when anything other than cotton would be sensory hell.
