I mean, unless the back of Rose/Steven or Peridot's gem is different from the front, anyway. They haven’t died yet, so I guess it might be? Maybe one day Peridot’s robot arms will fight each other over which one of them gets to try and stab Pearl with her sorta-corpse. I can dream.
Anyway, since neither Jasper nor Lapis is crystalline, neither forms stabby ends naturally,

and they’re both usually rounded when used in jewelry.

(Yes, yes, “teardrop” is a popular shape for lapis, and hearts and donuts are common for jasper. Thanks for that, show, thanks.)
Faceted cuts like Jasper’s are traditionally not the norm in opaque stones, and Jasper is presumably opaque, since her name’s Jasper and not Agate.
So what is up with your aggressive gemcut, Jasper. Are you compensating for something.
