My hopes for the future.

snarp* Peridot can't sing or dance, but she tries.
* She's younger than Steven.
* And shorter than Steven without her prosthetics.
* Steven at some point bargains with her to give some of the body parts they've stolen back in exchange for, like, a donut she stole for some reason, or a promise that she'll vary her taunts beyond "clods." Or expository chunks.
* The gems, in the middle of something else, accidentally walk in on her building a tiny model of herself out of french fries, or something.
PERIDOT: can you... go out and come back in again maybe?
STEVEN: Oh, oh! we could break the door down and come in yelling "Peridot" and doing cool poses this time! Get into character a little more!
PEARL: That WOULD constitute a more satisfyingly cathartic confrontation, I suppose...
They do.
* This happens a second time and she uses the pause to escape.
* We eventually encounter at least one other Peridot who 1) can actually correctly pronounce her own name, and 2) talks naturally the cool, collected way that Peridot Prime was trying to maintain in her first couple of appearances.
* Peridot Prime steals her leg.
* Peridot Prime is actually referred to as "Peridot Prime" at some point.
* At some point the gems are fighting something more menacing than she is and don't have time to try to capture her, and her feelings are hurt by this rejection. Steven asks Greg to chase her around for a while to make her feel better. They try it out for Steven's sake, but the relationship just doesn't click for them.
