Jun. 12th, 2015 05:30 pmI have gained >20 pounds since the beginning of the year because. I don't know. Sleep problems, probably.
This does not bother me for aesthetic reasons, but my blood pressure is too high, my joints hurt noticeably more, annnnnnd I can't wear a bunch of my clothes. So. Am choosing to address situation in the following ways:
* dump hummus-on-crackers and turkey-or-peanut-butter-sandwich-on-store-bought-bread as default-protein-source meals; they are not filling and I am probably eating too many of them, given their salt-and-sugar content.
* make a ton of my standard crock-pot bean-potato-onion-garlic soup, but unseasoned, and keep a thing of it in the fridge and several more things of it in the freezer. Keep various different things in the fridge to flavor it with so I don't get bored with it, ie, hontsuyu/salsa/miso/pasta sauce/whatever. Use this as default-protein-source meal.
* keep spinach/collard greens/etc in freezer to stick in the bowl with the soup before I microwave it.
* keep bananas and apples around, and try to remember to bake bread and put rice in the rice cooker.
* I can't really exercise any more than I already do (not much), so that's not part of the plan of action.
