I had insomnia and headaches all the time in high school and college, and that being the time period in which I decided what I was supposed to feel like, I feel most like myself now when sleep-deprived and headachy. I no longer hear voices, which was also part of it, but I can accept this specific compromise in personal authenticity.

The sensation of being in the right part of my head doesn't last as long now, though. I can't let myself stay tired for as long.
