so it actually kind of bothers me that curcumin and bioperine - which are basically curry reduced to that degrading format known as the "dietary supplement" - work better than naproxen or acetaminophen for me.

(Haven't yet done a test with ibuprofen, and combining aspirin with naproxen gives similar results to the curry pills.)

Well, once you reach a certain phase of life acetaminophen does basically shit, right? That's true of nearly everyone I know.

I know what you mean by being bothered by it, though -- ginger tea doesn't work better than ibuprofen for my cramps, but it means I can cut the ibuprofen dose way down. And the capsules work nearly as well for motion sickness as dimenhydrinate, though the mechanism is different. It kind of offended me when I realized these things are true, though, because it's literally just a condiment. And not even one I like.

Meanwhile I'm taking rhodiola and it's super efficient. You feel absolutely nothing while you're on it but then you review your week and realize that you mopped all your floors which is a thing you've been putting off for literally 14 months. At 2am. Also, terrifying work-related focus.
