1) WAHAHAHA election

2) I got nervous the other day (see: election) and spent something like a third of my paycheck on manga. It came today.

I love Urasawa. I think I would vote for him for President, because I feel that anyone who can do that good of an Astro Boy fanfic deserves to be President.

3) Sensei's giving a talk in a couple hours. Apparently he's talking about Miyazaki somewhat. I hope he doesn't switch directly from crazy porn to Miyazaki. I hope he doesn't say something that makes me start giggling and he gets grumpy at me and takes it out on my research draft.

4) ELECTION

I'm feeling kind of weird and hyper and everything's-awesome. I hope I don't hit the bad side of it and die this evening, because I really need to get started on my computer science project.

It would seem that lots of people are happy about the election results :). Did you see that Rumsfeld resigned? Good luck with your talk.

The talk was pretty good, and very characteristic of the professor in question. He actually didn't go straight from cute to porn - he talked about My Neighbor Totoro, then talked about religion, then cities - and then he popped the My Lonesome Cowboy slide (VERY NWS).

(And I had been sitting in my room beforehand thinking, Oh, man, I just know he's going to show a slide of My Lonesome Cowboy. I know he's been researching that artist, he even recommended some of the guy's books to me, I will bet you anything he's going to show a slide of My Lonesome Cowboy.)

But he didn't start laughing at the noises people made. I'm sure all his students are very impressed by that.

Is this a professor, cuz if so, that's sweet. I wish my classes were half as interesting.

Yup; he teaches Japanese language and lit. The talk wasn't for a class, but sort of an introduction to an exhibition of another professor's Japan-related art, though I think he was mostly off in his own areas of interest. (The art itself is very abstract and probably impossible to talk about.) His lit classes also involve a goodly portion of crazy, though.
