Homestuck update.

snarpHahaha yeah. I guess this was pretty much guaranteed to happen.
Homestuck does not really show people doing romance on-panel unless it's part of a joke and/or the very immediate prelude to tragedy. So Dave and Terezi probably had to break up before they could become active figures in the narrative again.
Karkat <> Gamzee was kind of a joke in itself - another instance of Karkat throwing himself on an emotional grenade, if at least one that briefly made him happy - because Karkat largely makes sense as a character and has a brain, which Gamzee does not. I think Hussie even once said something along those lines on Tumblr.
Still, I don't promise that I will accept it calmly if Rose and Kanaya are revealed to have broken up by the end of the week. Nooo Rooose nooo Kanaya you are so cuuute together, you both actually smile regularly when you're talking to one another! YOU ARE THE ROCK
It would be kind of awesome if they've become kismeses, though! That is what happens in the better class of fiction about vampire/human relationships, they just quadrant flip all over the place. It would be very irresponsible of Homestuck not to follow through on this.
I continue to think that Kanaya's murdery gestures towards Gamzee were mostly about Gamzee thwarting her own intentions towards Karkat, and hope that that's something that eventually happens.
(Regardless, both of these Kanaya conditions are integral parts of my stupid fanfic, because fuck the police.)
I don't think that a Rose <3< Kanaya situation would interfere with John causing awkwardness by means of his apparent belief that he is destined to marry Rose. I want John to cause a good deal of emotional chaos at a time at which it is least needed. Possibly angrily solicit/kiss Karkat to show that he's fine with Rose being gay and even already gay-married, thus shattering Karkat's emotional equilibrium yet again, or at least freaking him out and making their reunion into a big shouty thing.
This should happen in a way visible to Roxy shortly after they have met, so Roxy can be all "goddamnit every surviving guy in every universe is gay and/or a basketcase." It should also be visible to Dave, so Dave can yell at him for dicking around with Karkat's feelings and not doing the responsible thing and making out with his ecto-mom, this being the very first Roxy has heard about being the last available guy's mom, and she just bangs her head forever against a hard and unyielding surface. Possibly shoots John and Dave, thus enraging Rose, so their first substantive conversation is an argument.

Kanaya's murder-rage for Gamzee never made much sense, given that she wasn't especially close to either Nepeta or Equius, and during the showdown she was feeling ashen towards him. Kanaya<>Karkat would definitely make up for most of the Gamzee fuckery.
