The Janewashing's been telegraphed pretty much since she was introduced, but I'd kind of thought Jade and John would be somehow prepared for the possibility of mind-control, given that it seems like Jake's letters would've mentioned the Condesce and her psychic crap at some point. Or maybe they prepared by keeping John and the sprites back as insurance, and that's why they weren't present?
Actually, what am I saying, the rule is that everything's always somehow Jade's fault, of course she had to get mind-controlled. Sorry, Jade, that's just how it works.
Hey, this might give Erisol something to do! Sollux could keep Vriska from messing with his head "half the time" - perhaps it was the depressed half! Yes, clinical depression is the true hero of this narrative, I have solved Homestuck for all time.
Anyway, the Condesce fucked everything up and Jane and Jade look cool and are evil, so this was a good update.
