snarpMom and I spent about an hour hoeing, yanking up intractable weeds by hand, thinning, etc. The beans and carrots all froze to death last month, and we decided to re-till that part of the plot before replanting. Neither of us can yank hard enough to start the tiller, so I went and got Dad. He did various muscleman poses and mocked us. Unrelatedly, he'd been riding around on the stupid riding lawnmower for the previous forty-five minutes, and most of the weeding we had to do was on his corn, which he had entirely ignored since planting it.
One of my potato plants from last year came back to life, and is presently towering menacingly over a tiny cornstalk. I think it's returned for revenge on Dad for mowing over it.
