I've been poking around at different games to try out on my new computer. Can you get any meaningful play from DF in 30 minute chunks? Or is it a 1-3 hour sitting kind of thing?

Once you've learned the interface, I think half an hour is enough - but learning it requires the sort of commitment of time and concentration one might more sanely give to learning a programming language. (I'm worried I may be an idiot, by the way.) This is true even with the add-on pack intended to make it easier.

So, I probably would not recommend it?
