Everyone loves Pokemon, right?
Or at least no one seems to object too strenuously when people post Pokemon manga scans here, and that's good enough for me!

Yeah, you better not be having any of those slash fantasies of yours over there, Misty.
There are a lot of Pokemon manga. I no longer know the exact number. Four or five years ago, when I amassed my present collection, there were seven, but I think they've started two or three or nine others since then. So, I don't know how many Pokemon manga there are. A lot. Of them.
They're are all by different writers and artists, so, as with any franchise, their quality varies pretty widely. This post is scans from Dengeki Pikachu/just Pokemon in English, by Toshihiro Ono. It's based loosely on the cartoon series, and like the cartoon, it's usually-comedy-sometimes-melodrama. Mostly, each chapter is based on an episode of the anime, but it's aimed slightly older; it's the one you might have heard about with all the edited-out boobs.
The boobs do not, at risk of triteness, work. In any capacity - they are neither anatomically feasible nor, I feel, sexually provocative. They're just kind of weird. Gary's sister's, in the picture under the "Chapter 1" heading on the page I just linked to, are particularly bad - they don't even look like cartoon boobs. They're shaped exactly like the nose of this styrofoam airplane I had when I was ten. Judging from the sharp angle at which they jut out from her torso, I would expect them to have approximately the same elasticity constant. Not that I spend a lot of time thinking about what manga boobs would feel like or anything. Let's move on.
For reasons I consider obvious, I've scanned a lot of pages with James. Look, he's sleeping so peacefully...

JAMES WANTS A RIDE

Boo hoo hoo! (I don't know where they got all that stuff.)

And over in some other storyline, it's time... for the motto. (They actually don't do it every time.)

Ash spends a lot of time with his pants off, by the way. I don't know why. It's a thing.

James is a lover, not a fighter.

COMPLETELY NOT JAMES. (No.)

And Gary would like us all to know that he is no commie. I think.

I like the manga because of how energetic Ono's art is, particularly his backgrounds, which are very light and hyperactive - he could have gotten away with bland cityscapes a lot of the time, but his ADD simply would not allow that. I know a lot of people hate him, which I can understand, but he gives me great joy. You can't mistake his style for anyone else's.
For people on dial-up:
