Is "sonic screwdriver" intended to sound like a rude way of saying "vibrator?" Or is that accidental?

Cannot actually put that past the 70s production team that invented the current design. There was a season where at least one of the crew kept slipping in oddly shaped aliens/tech....almost like they were having a contest to see how blatant you could go: http://copperbadge.livejournal.com/3041876.html

The very first 60s design though was just a screwdriver...you could unscrew things without being in physical contact. The prop itself was just a screwdriver. It didn't become a light-up magic wand until later.

Now that I think about it, yes. Also that a good vibrator will fix anything. That is the real lesson of the sonic screwdriver.
