Hirsutism!
Feb. 19th, 2010 01:11 pmI've only been shaving my face for a couple years, and I don't have to do it every day, so maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I'm still only a level 2 face-shaver. Maybe I don't have enough face-shaving EXP.
But I read these reviews of razors where guys talk about how easy it is to cut yourself with a cheap blade, and I just do not understand how you can cut your face shaving. The idea makes no sense to me. Faces are not hard! They don't have a lot of surface area and you can see all of it right there in the mirror! I guess most guys are hairier than I am, and thus have to make more passes with the razor than I do, but you know what? Try doing multiple passes on the backs of your thighs.
Basically, I guess I'm saying I think guys should learn to shave their legs.

Relatedly, here is an awesome thing that you should know if you shave any part of your body and are cheap: safety razors are really environmentally friendly - if you've got access to steel recycling, there's no waste at all - and they're about a million times cheaper than regular razors. You can get the razor body on eBay for $5, and 50 blades for about $10.
You do need to be a little more careful than with a regular razor, but I've gone two months without doing myself any damage. (Also, I am shaving like Archie Goodwin, which I posit will eventually confer upon me some measure of his power.)

Additionally, face shaving - I stick to epilation and am very satisfied with the results. Much, much more painful, but you only have to do it every week or so. And not every week or so like they say in commercials - ACTUALLY every week or so. Coming from the girl who has to shave her legs every day for them to be presentable. And consequently wears pants for most of the summer.
