snarpI am going to start a new book-reading tradition for, when I remember it. Whenever I am on page 128 of a book that has, uhh, substantially more than 128 pages, I will make a prediction about it.
Because there are spoilers from the first 128 pages in here (and also because I'm a genius and assume I must be right), I'm putting it behind a cut.
The Queen of Attolia, by Megan Whalen Turner
Oh, god, he's going to marry Attolia, isn't he? And that's why the next book is called "The King of Attolia," isn't it? Oh, god.
Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me (twice), Turner! I see right through your narrative misdirection! It is, of course, blatantly obvious that she's in love with him, and also that she doesn't like the pseduo-Egyptian guy and is plotting non-evil stuff that no one yet suspects, behind all that third-person-sorta-fixed you've got going on there! There's no way she's evil! She talks like Magus from Chrono Trigger, she does!
My only question is whether this is the arranged marriage Eddis was talking about earlier, or whether he and Attolia will fall into a hole together or something and have to work together to get out, and learn unsuspected things about each other, and gain mutual respect and all that good stuff.
There had better be lots of angst, is all I've got to say about it.
(I actually like Attolia.)

I like Attolia too
