1) Your English major is many a year out-of-date; that is a mostly-accepted way of pluralizing a proper name, particularly when it's a noun that you're not actually supposed to pluralize in the first place.

2) I was trying to write in the style of someone who learned grammar from alarmist email forwards anyway.
