No, wait, the Homeworld Gems are Magus from Chrono Trigger!

Yeah. The Cluster is Lavos, the massive parasite that’s gonna consume the earth and then send its spawn into space to do it to more planets. The Homeworld Gems are trying to defeat it in ultimately self-defeating ways and need to team up with the heroes to finally make some progress. I Figured It Out.

Homeworld is the lifeless far-future despair dystopia, the Homeworld Gems are Magus, and Roooooose is somehow Queen Zeal (Magus’s mom)!

See, tying into the current thematic focus on Moms Messing Up.
