Is this real insight into the Condesce's possessiveness of Jane, or red herring insight?

Combined with Meenah's "mind control for the greater good is totes cool w/ me" line, it certainly looks like it's intended to be a true parallel to what's just happened with the Condesce and Jane and Jade. Which does make me wonder if the Condesce's motivations at this stage could be about outcomes she considers best for everybody rather than things that benefit only herself (or only LE).
