Tumblr is kind of annoying.

It's like it sprang fully-formed from the head of Geocities. So, you know, it's probably a reasonable visualization of the modern Western psyche. But that makes it exhausting to use. Ten minutes on Tumblr requires a five-minute brain-rest spent looking at something stationary and uninteresting, like my teacup.

Hahaha, yesssss. It definitely took up the mantle when geocities went to the great internet graveyard in the sky. So many animated backgrounds and colored text over patterns and autoplaying music with no way to turn it off!

There's always the chance of running into that sort of design on LJ and DW, too, of course, but that's why we have style=mine! I would actually pay real money to have a style=mine function on tumblr. Like, if they offered paid accounts and that was one of the benefits, I would be first in line.

As it is, I just try to never ever stray from my dash.

No, you're wrong, kind stranger! I remember Geocities. Geocities wasn't that bad. Tumblr is like... the worst Geocities pages without the benefit of all being written in relatively simplistic code. I spend every day on Tumblr just barely declining to break up with it in a fit of rage.

Now I miss Geocities. *sniffle*
