Nixon the Cat is very sick.

snarpShe hasn't been eating much since last weekend, and Tuesday and Wednesday she barely ate at all, so I took her to the vet yesterday morning. Her pancreas and kidneys are failing, her white blood cell count is elevated, and she's anemic. They gave her fluids through a tube yesterday and today, and antibiotics, and this afternoon I took her home. If she makes it through the night, she'll go back tomorrow morning and they'll do it again.
Right now I've set her up in the bathroom with a little cat buffet of water, milk, wet cat food, dry cat food, greek yogurt, and canned tuna. She's eaten a little of the tuna, and drinks water or milk when I push them in front of her. She wobbles when she walks or sits upright. Periodically she walks over in front of the litterbox and urinates clear water on the floor.
I brought in a pillow and blanket so I could lie on the floor next to her, and she nudged me off the pillow and fell asleep on it, which she hadn't seemed to be able to do on her towel or on the floor. I've left her alone in there with the lights off for a while.
I am freaking out slightly less today than yesterday. I watched her mother give birth to her on Mom and Dad's bed when I was in third grade.
