Maybe it's just my limited experience talking, but personally I always kinda find it a reality-breaker when EVERYONE in one's class/office/street/neighborhood joins in on tormenting the hero or heroine. Sure, I was bullied a lot in school as a kid, but it was really only two or three dedicated people -- maybe four or five regulars. The rest of the class simply ignored me.

I guess I just find it extremely unlikely when a group of people who otherwise could not be persuaded to agree on pizza toppings simultaneously drop whatever they're doing to unite in scorn for a person they otherwise could not bother two hoots about. They've got their own things to do!
