I have been kind of thrusting that essay at people who say stupid things ever since the original casting announcement. "Here! Read this, and stop being stupid!"

It's nearly an instinctive action at this point, so I'm concerned that I'm going to reach a point at which I'll just start throwing it at people saying totally unrelated stupid things - like, stupid things about elephants, or JavaScript.
