I like Sharon Shinn's books, but on re-reads, they seem to be falling into the David Eddings Memorial Guilty Pleasure categories. (With many of the same weird flaws that Eddings perpetuated, just stylistically different.)

For instance, the heroines are almost all blond. Rachel, Alleya, Lucinda/Tamar, with the two exceptions being the Edori Susannah and the Jansai girl from Angel-Seeker.

And the strawman atheists are driving me crazy.
