When I find that I cannot meaningfully distinguish between two candidates based on the available information, I reflexively vote for the one who seems to have less funding, on the rationale that s/he is less likely to be corporate-owned. I'm not sure how justified I actually am in this idea; maybe I just resent the ads, and I'm rationalizing my vengeance.
