After telling me to call her back, the Anthem BlueCross BlueShield robot abruptly added, "One more quick thought. If you're tired, try peeling some fresh oranges or lemons. Not only do they smell delicious, but some people find that those little droplets of [incomprehensible word] they release into the air help give the body a boost of energy. Thank you, and have a nice day. Bye-bye." (Google Voice transcription did a pretty good job on this.)

- so,

1) I'm not actually supposed to eat the fruit? What do I do with it after I've peeled it? Should I leave it sitting out?

2) Is "burst of energy" really a legitimate medical term?

3) Did the robot get any actual physicians to approve this piece of advice? Or is it based on her own personal observations of human behavior? Is it part of an experiment she's doing on us?

4) Why does the robot end the call with "bye-bye"?

Edit: When I actually called them back, Anthem had no idea why the robot had called me. Also, the number that the robot gave me didn't actually work; I had to use the one on my card.
