Mom and I have voted. We are in rural eastern Kentucky, so there are no lines. One of the women working the polls said, “We’ve had 279 people in already! That’s more than we usually get at all!”

A small dog who looked old about enough to vote sat in front of a machine that wasn’t being used, with the look of one who is considering his decision with great care.

We made it.
