This is the first of the three posts that went up April 1st. It's mainly promotional stuff for the Gaiden OVA.

In this one, I'm including small versions of the pictures she posted, mainly because I think the last one's funny.

Things to do with the Saiyuki Gaiden OVA.

The Saiyuki Gaiden OVA Book 1 Cloud of Cherry Blossoms Limited Edition version is finally on sale. Have you watched it yet? You should watch it, you know! We're hard at work on Book 2 right now. Book 2 is more intense, and you can really feel the staff's passion. I think it's got a couple levels on Book 1.

Under the Cherry Trees / Towards the Light, the CD with KOKIA's theme songs (opening and ending) for the OVA, will go on sale April 27th. They're great - the more you listen to them, the more you want to hear them. I did two new images for the jacket and sleeve illustration. I listened to the songs while I was working on them, trying to work their spirit into the art. You should definitely pick it up.



I wrote here that I'd try to make it to February's OVA viewing event, but I wasn't feeling well enough to make it... oh, well. I'm sorry. I hope all the attendees enjoyed themselves. I hear that the advance tickets sold out in fifteen minutes. That's really amazing. But I feel very bad about the people who couldn't go. I couldn't either, so we're comrades. (bitter laugh) We'll party together next time.

This was announced at the OVA viewing, but the Gaiden characters will be making an appearance in @games's avatar game Selfie (セルフィ). That'll start April 5th.



^ They're completely adorable. And it's not just the four protagonists, but also Goujun, Nataku, Kannon, and Jiroushin (!!?) who are getting this treatment. And there are plenty of items, like cigarettes, guns, ashtrays, and so on... and Tenpou can change into his uniform. It's crazy. I hope the Selfie players have lots of fun playing with the Gaiden characters.

...But you can't put Kannon's clothes on Jiroushin. You just can't. Not allowed.

Waaah! Thank you for this translation again! I can't wait to watch Saiyuki Gaiden OVA 1! A friend of mine who watched it yet told me that the real beginning of this DVD is Gaiden chapter 13 while former chapters are quickly showed.
