MANGA VERSION OF TORIKAEBAYA MONOGATARI! (!!!)

Ohhh yes I knew this had to exist. I think I'm about to order it.

It looks like it's just one volume. The artist's name is Kihara Toshie - I'd never heard of her before, but when I googled the name I found some pages grouping her with the 49'ers. This manga will definitely be awesome.

Having been awake for 36 hours finishing a thirty-four-page research paper, what do I do? Do I... sleep twelve hours and eat a bunch of junk food? Or do I... sleep slightly less than six hours, then get up and read two more books on the same topic as the paper, and set about purchasing another?

Wow, this is really strange. I've been really, really into Kihara recently. (I'd avoided her for some time after picking up her version of Angelique, which was excruciatingly bad, but eventually the memory faded enough for me to give her another go) What's best about her stuff are the costumes and subtle emotions.

For example, I'm reading her "Mari and Shingo" series right now, and I'm loving the way Mari and Shingo's relationship is sort of hovering between friendship and romance. It's sweet, almost celebratory, but just a touch sad too.

So I'm sure she'll do a fine job with the subject material covered Torikaebaya Monogatari. (I'll have to see if I can track down a copy myself)
