Dreamwidth!

Yup. I remain snarp.

I’m kinda still pondering what to do when cross-posting goes live - I doubt the buggy WordPress lj-crosspost plugin I’m using will be able to post to Dreamwidth. Anyway, I’ll be reading both my list there and my list here for the foreseeable future.

Edit: loqia posted in the comments saving my world with her WordPress crosspost plugin JournalPress. It will hopefully work with Dreamwidth soon, and in any case presently works much better than LJXP, the plugin I was using before.

'Scuse the self-pimping, but JournalPress (http://beta.void-star.net/projects/journalpress/) "works" with DW.

Well, I say "works" because there's currently a bug in the DW code that's causing issues, but I helped test a patch today, which should be rolled out soonish. :3

Well, thank you; let me know if you encounter any issues or have any suggestions for future improvements (other than the userpic thing; I know, I know, I'm lazy ^^"). :)

You may also want to check out this (http://beta.void-star.net/2009/04/journalpress-vs-dreamwidth/), which is the official-unofficial patch that will make JP work with DW until they roll their fix out. And this (http://beta.void-star.net/2009/02/finding-your-livejournal-bitmask/) for how to set up custom friends groups with WP-Flock/JournalPress, since it's about as intuitive as... something not very intuitive.

Ah, okay yeah.

Because JP supports multiple journals while LJXP doesn't, JP has no way of knowing which of its journals to map old LJXP metadata to... if that makes sense? It means that it physically can't edit entries that have been posted by LJXP.

It does kinda suck, now that I think about it, yeah. Hrm, okay. I'll keep it in mind as something to add in future (a "convert from LJXP to LJ" feature). Which might be cold comfort for you now; sorry about that. ^^"

... and now I get through the email for your comment answering your own question. Heh.

Sorry to report a bug that's not really a bug!
Heh, not at all; it's good to know these things. Believe me, if you said, ten other people have been thinking it. ^^"
