WHY do the spiro tablets have to be mint-flavored

I'm usually a little nauseous when I first get up in the morning, which is when I take it; and I take it at the same time as metformin, which makes the nausea worse. So I'm developing an aversion to mint.

I've already given myself an accidental aversion to smoothies after that incident where I vomited up most of one a few weeks ago. If I also lose knock-off thin mints kept in the freezer, my Preferred Summer Foods lineup will be devastated. I'll be left only with kimchi-and-broccoli (kimchi is unavailable and my family refuses to buy me more because they don't care about my welfare >:[) and zaru soba (requires boiling water and thus is inconvenient).

Metformin is the actual worst, and I am convinced that if it improves anyone's glucose tolerance (it didn't for me) then it only does so by scaring their bodies into submission with all the digestive crap it puts them through.
