In re my failure to thermoregulate

Is there any actual, peer-reviewed fucking research out there on the best fabrics and garment-types to wear to prevent overheating? A set of standardized medical recs or anything?

I have to go with: things that expose a lot of skin?

(thin cotton is the current and historic favorite on this)

Many artificial fabrics breath poorly and are sticky and hot, unless you get the ones specifically designed to breath and wick away moisture.

I think it may, at least in part, depend on whether you're talking dry heat or heat with humidity. I have the impression that linen is a classic for that, possibly better than cotton (or maybe just classier. I don't know).

For situations where you think you'll be sweating a lot, my husband swears by those moisture wicking artificial fiber blends, but I don't have personal experience with them except to note that I don't much like the texture and that it's hard to find such things in my size.

I don't know of anything like, peer-reviewed, so I await any such results with bated breath.

(Won't bother with unsolicited anecdata here unless you want 'em.)
