Coffee is a terrible thing.

Because it's addictive and it gives you headaches when you don't drink it and it gives you jitters when you do. And it's not tea.

But I'm drinking it because I've been put on medication that makes me really groggy, and I find that I cannot safely shave in the morning without having first had some. I can't even wash my face, I keep dropping the cleanser bottle and getting it all over everything.

Dad is an obsessive connoisseur of overpriced coffee, and he would probably be happy about having finally converted me, if I didn't prefer instant. This upsets him. I think instant is good because you can just mix a spoonful into cold soymilk and drink it like that. It's two bean beverages combined! It's good thematically! He probably feels a knife twisting in his heart every time I do this.

I'm a fellow drinker of instant coffee. I get the flavored kind that's mostly milk. I wouldn't know what to do with 'real' coffee.

I got myself off of drinking coffee two years ago when I had my gall bladder out (I was so miserable that I didn't notice the caffeine withdrawal), but I'm thinking about starting up again. I'm very groggy in the mornings when I get up to get my daughter ready for school. Last year, without caffeine, I napped most mornings after dropping my daughter at school. It's possible that, with caffeine, I can have my mornings back.

I just have to make up my mind.

I have a friend who, in times of extreme academic stress, sprinkles instant coffee on her cornflakes.

That's a brilliant idea! If I ever need a simple, low-effort caffeine delivery idea, I'm totally going with this.

Seconded.

Also, this made me smile: And it's not tea.
