Of course, I find that getting a gift card gives me permission to buy things that I wanted but felt I shouldn't spend money on. Even when I'm within my budget, it's hard to buy luxuries.

LOL! This happened to me last year, though it was not Amazon gift cards. I gave my friend a $20 grocery store card only to find he had given me $20 cash. XD

My siblings and I kept doing this until we finally agreed to stop getting each other gifts. We get gifts for the generation above us and the generation below us now.
