Well, I'm sold.

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. 5 Stars - Excellent Choice for Tactical Headlamp, March 11, 2013. By D. Porter. This review is from: Princeton Tec Fred Headlamp (Sports): As a commercial burglar it's very important to maintain night vision by using a headlamp with red output. I researched a lot of headlamps and decided to stay with Princeton Tec from past good experience with their products. I've also used Petzl headlamps but quality isn't as high as US made Princeton Tec. This is a well thought out product, good ergonomics, and light output is just about perfect. I did not want an excessive bright light in the red mode. Using a red LED rather than a pull down red shade prevents inadvertently lighting up with a bright white light. And this headlamp always turns on in dim red first, just as it should be. One caution, the hard plastic case will retain fingerprints should the headlamp be ditched or lost. Recommend wearing light gloves.
