Well, they're technically niboshi, and by the way you shouldn't click on that link if you don't like eating things that still have eyes. I call them dried sardines, but Wikipedia says you can also call them anchovies? (I don't think I've ever had American sardines or anchovies, so I don't know what they taste like.) Whatever they are, they're very salty and crunchy and fishy, and I have been ordered not to eat them around certain people who don't appreciate their odor. These people are fools.
