Dad is watching Barney's Version for the 20th time.
He likes movies where Paul Giamatti is wrong.
Me: So did anyone give either of you guys a gun at the wedding?... (to Mom) I guess it would've made more sense if it was you.
Mom: Not at the wedding. But Bobbie Sue's mom - you know, from Bobbie Sue's Restaurant? - she tried to give me one once. She said, "I really think you should take it. It's dangerous for a young woman living alone."
I told her I was offended she hadn't given me a gun for college.
(It would make more sense for someone to give Mom a gun because Dad is from New York and scared of them, and Mom is from here and knows how to use them.)
