Erm, it took a lot of plotting on my part. First I started by planting the seed in my boss's head that getting games for the next gen systems was stupid (one of the more hoity toity libraries in the area got 360 and Wii games) which of course made her nod...but then I said, yeah, if they were smart they'd get like DS games and PS2 games because they're cheaper and more people have those systems to which she nodded...then I spoke with attractive-male-co-work-who-is-the-only-male-employee-at-SoLo-and-thus-everyone-has-a-crush-on-him-and-he-can-get-away-with-murder, welll co-worker AMCWWITOMEASATEHACOHAHCGAWM knew a good idea when he heard one...so he too began working on the super stuffy powers that be...and THEN along came the news that our new materials budget would get cut if we did not get our circulation numbers up...and lo, together attractive-numerous-other-letters-co-worker and myself then brought up DS and PS2 games and since we had been carefully nurturing the seed with our boss for months, she was receptive, especially facing budget cuts...and then when she went to her bosses and they were reluctant to have video games she brought up that the hoity toity library had spent their money unwisely and therefore, if we did this, we would be better than them. Trust me, being better than this suburbian, uber wealthy library is a goal that all of us at the inner city sorta in the ghetto LPLS system wish to be. And that is why my library has games but yours didn't?
