Blah Apple

Having discovered that the cell phone works fine as an MP3 player, I started up my perennial Get The iTunes DRM Off My New Pornographers Albums Project again. I tried three pieces of DRM-cracking software, none of which worked. It is a triumph for Apple’s software engineers!

Except that I just torrented everything instead.

Would I be correct in assuming you've already tried burning a CD of the DRM protected music and then ripping it back onto your computer, DRM-free? In principle, I am hugely irritated to have to create the CDs in order to own non-defective files, but I can and do play all the album CDs I created that way on my stereo, so it was worth it in my book.
