I would have been okay with him if he hadn't been important - if he'd just been sort of a one-episode object lesson about, you know, how suffering does not make virtue, and a lot of the time the opposite. The thing is that he's just too good at being crazy for me to be comfortable with him, if that makes any sense. He freaks me out because he's too much like people like him in real life. I wanted to lead Zuko away from him and lecture him about the dangers of charismatic strangers who praise him.
