A better parallel for clone!Syaoran eating Fai's eye in Holic might be the spider woman eating Watanuki's eye.
Kamui and Fuuma do have different teams in TRC than they do in X; I find the twist interesting given X's plot. (X spoilers) After all, one of the whole things about X is that it wasn't clear at the beginning which one would become a Dragon of Heaven and which one would become a Dragon of Earth. It could have easily gone the other way if Kamui had chosen differently.
I'm not familiar with RG Veda, so I suspect I'm missing a lot.
