I found I could steal stuff from the local Borders if I wanted to - turns out they use the same system we do. I found this out one day when I set off the alarm coming in with a DVD I'd checked out stashed in my bag. The same person who came over and helped me figure out what it was when I came in checked me out, and I said something about setting it off again as I went out, so she walked over with me so none of the other salespeople would accuse me of stealing or something.

Although I figured out at my previous job that the best way to steal stuff from Best Buy was to have a DVD from the local anime store in my bag and set off the alarm on the way in. XD As long as it was the same guard, they'd assume it was the same DVD setting it off on the way out.
