A recent email from her, in its entirety:
"HELLO.
I broke my leg."
The HELLO was in English, but she broke her leg in Japanese.
Her latest email asks for my mailing address and includes a winky emoticon. I suspect she may be planning to celebrate Christmas in the Western fashion!
Which means I should get something for her and Conan, too. I'm considering this book
. BUT WHAT ELSE? I'd obviously like to send her an English-language Moomins book, but I suspect that that's still probably above her reading level.
