This is really sad.
Because I am morbid, I've been looking at the Silk Road message board. Its slogan should be: Where Coke Addicts Rationalize Crazy Motherfucking Behavior At One Another, Ignoring The More Reasonable Suggestions Of The People With "Shroom" In Their Usernames.
(Seriously, the mushroom people seem astonishingly together. Good grammar, polite, no all-caps or unparagraphed walls-o'-text. The Huffington Post needs to retain some shroom dealers to class up the tone of their comments.)
I found this depressing thread about controlled deliveries, where people kept offering ideas of how to accept the delivery and get away with that box of drugs. I almost wanted to create an account and tell them, "there are no drugs in that box, buddy, and even if there were, you could not easily snort/smoke them while handcuffed in the usual configuration."
But several people had already said it, and of course, it didn't work. If you are not a drug addict, you know that if your box of drugs shows up in the hands of an unfamiliar postal worker who unexpectedly wants you to sign for it, you should not sign for it and it's not an actual box of drugs. If you are a drug addict, all you know is that you've been waiting for that box of drugs.
You know, I'm pretty sure we need to cancel the whole war on drugs thing? Because if you're too fucked up to recognize the immediate and present threat of a controlled delivery, you're definitely too fucked up to be deterred by the distant and abstract threat of a prison sentence.
