Everything is constructed on a slightly larger scale, the nearest formal garden is that place near Myrtle Beach, and the nearest place to buy a tonkatsu bentou is I think Pittsburgh.

Casualties of the trip.

* thegeekgene's suitcase. Sorry, thegeekgene. Its zipper got torn up at some point during its various plane-to-truck-to-plane transfers. It didn't actually burst open until we were loading it into the back of the car, which I guess is some sort of victory.

* My safety razor. A hinge on the blade compartment got bent, and now it won't close all the way.

* My laptop case's shoulder strap. The strap itself got twisted from moisture and heat and will no longer lay flat, causing it to grate at the leather padded bit until it tore.

* A lot of zaru soba. I ate it.
